Hey guys,
It is so hard to believe we are already over halfway through the year! Where did the time go??
The last Sunday of the month is always an exciting day for me because (nerd alert!) its the day I sit down and plan out my next month Bullet Journal spreads. I also spend some time reflecting on our accomplishments for the past month. It is so relaxing to just sit, doodle and prepare mentally for the month ahead. I can’t wait for Asher to get a little older so he can color beside me and we can make it a whole family activity.
August was always a bittersweet month for me growing up because in Arizona it meant the start of the school year (here on the east coast school starts in September so now August just seems like a really drawn out Sunday to me). Does anyone else get that scary, exciting, butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling before the new school year? It meant the freedom and fun of Summer was ending BUT there was the promise of friends new and old, school supplies (bouquets of pencils!), and whole new adventures. I loved it! Even though Ash is still in daycare, so still a little too early for him, I really hope he gets excited about the new school year the way I did (though hopefully without inheriting my crippling shyness/social awkwardness).
This month, I decided to do a firefly jar theme for my bullet journal. There is just something about fireflies at dusk bouncily floating around the yard that always reminds me of that summer sundown feeling of August. Like the bright summer sun is setting and these little fireflies are happily keeping the light going just a little longer before the evening Fall.
