Bujo with Me: April 2020

Hi friends,

Welp this rainy spring weekend feels a bit different than other rainy days. While we are all doing our part to social distance lets Bujo together with this April Showers Bullet Journal theme!

Normally I love rainy weekends like this one. They remind me of my childhood when my father and I would cozy up in lawn chairs under our porch and watch the rain clouds roll in from the AZ mountains and smell the fragrant creosote bushes come to life under the warm misting rain.  It also reminds me of my time abroad in the UK where everything smelled a little damp, and the thick London mist would wrap around you like a British hug.

I also love rainy days because they were a rare excuse not to go anywhere and run the million errands that always needed doing or the never ending list of activities.  Now that we are going on Day 15ish of Self-Quarantine/Social Distancing, rainy days bring on a lot of other different feelings.  With a toddler and a very active dog cooped up at home for so long, the few outings we make for walks or outdoor play are a basic necessity to keep everyone sane.  So now a whole weekend of rain feels more like a true test of our sanity and my ability to create activities nearly as entertaining as a stroll around our neighborhood.

But eventually this difficult time will pass and I hope then rainy days will hold the same peace and comfort for my son as it did for me.  With that in mind, I decided to do an April Showers theme for this month’s spreads to infuse some fun and creativity into what is otherwise a very stressful time for all of us.  So grab your journals and let’s get started!
